{"id":26153,"date":"2025-08-27T11:09:57","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T05:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=26153"},"modified":"2025-08-28T13:35:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T08:05:07","slug":"national-awards-to-teachers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-awards-to-teachers\/","title":{"rendered":"National Awards to Teachers"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Awards to Teachers Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education selected 16 teachers in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and Polytechnic for National Awards to Teachers (NAT) 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Awards to Teachers<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>first instituted in the year 1958<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to felicitate <\/span><b>remarkable teachers and head masters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in their quest to <\/span><b>improve the quality of school education<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and enrich their students\u2019 learning experiences.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Award program is <\/span><b>designed to honour and celebrate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the unique contribution of some of <\/span><b>the finest teachers in the country<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These awards are given away <\/span><b>by the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/president-of-india\/\" target=\"_blank\">President of India<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (or) <\/span><b>the Vice President of India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on <\/span><b>5th September<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Teacher&#8217;s Day) <\/span><b>every year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to give public recognition to meritorious teachers working in primary, middle and secondary schools.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NAT is being executed under the overall <\/span><b>supervision of the Ministry of Education (MOE).<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Eligibility Criteria for National Awards to Teachers<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School teachers and Heads of Schools working in <\/span><b>recognized primary \/ middle \/ high \/ higher<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> secondary schools under the following categories:<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schools run by State Govt.\/UTs Administration, schools run by local bodies, schools aided by State Govt. and UT Administration and Private schools affiliated to State\/UTs Board.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Central Govt. Schools i.e. <\/span><b>Kendriya Vidyalayas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (KVs), <\/span><b>Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (JNVs), Sainik Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MoD), Schools run by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES) and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) run by Ministry of Tribal Affairs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Normally retired teachers are not eligible for the award but those teachers who have served a part of the calendar year (at least for four months i.e. upto 30th April in the year to which National Awards relate) may be considered if they fulfill all other conditions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Educational Administrators<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Inspectors of Education, and the staff of training Institutes are <\/span><b>not eligible<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for these awards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teacher \/ Headmaster should not have indulged in tuitions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Only regular Teachers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Heads of Schools with a minimum ten years of services are eligible.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contractual Teachers and Shiksha Mitras <\/span><b>are not eligible.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2049495\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Teachers Awards  is conferred on the exemplary teachers\/faculty members of higher education institutions and Polytechnics.
