The tombs belong to the rulers of the Qutb Shahi Dynasty.<\/li>\n<li>It is a 500-year-old cluster of grand mausoleums, idgah, graves, funerary mosques, a hammam (bath), and baolis (stepwells).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Architecture style:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It collectively constitutes an outstanding example of an <strong>Indo-Muslim dynastic<\/strong> necropolis.<\/li>\n<li>These tombs are present in a large group on a raised platform. They resemble Persian, Pathan and Hindu architectural styles that make use of <strong>grey granite,<\/strong> with <strong>stucco ornamentation<\/strong> and is a one-of-its-kind place in the world where the whole dynasty is buried at a single spot.<\/li>\n<li>They lie amidst beautifully landscaped gardens with intricately carved stonework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key facts about Qutb Shahi dynasty<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They are Muslim rulers of the <strong>kingdom of Golconda<\/strong> in the <strong>southeastern Deccan of India<\/strong>, one of the five successor states of the Bahman\u012b kingdom.<\/li>\n<li>The founder was <strong>Qul\u012b Qu\u1e6db Shah,<\/strong> a Turkish governor of the Bahman\u012b eastern region.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Time period:<\/strong> 1518\u20131687<\/li>\n<li>Qu\u1e6db Shah declared his independence in 1518 and moved his capital to Golconda.<\/li>\n<li>Toward the end of the century, Mu\u1e25ammad Qul\u012b Qu\u1e6db Shah built a new capital at Hyderabad, a few miles away.<\/li>\n<li>The kingdom stretched from the <strong>Godavari river<\/strong> in the north, sharing a border with Tamil Nadu to the south, Bijapur to the west, and <strong>the Bay of Bengal<\/strong> to the east.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: Who are Bahmani Sultans?<\/h3>\n<p>The Bahmani Kingdom rose to power after the Turkish Governor Ala-ud-din Hassan Bahman Shan established an independent empire by revolting against the Sultan of Delhi Sultanate, Muhammad Bin Tughlaq in 1347.
