{"id":26252,"date":"2025-12-25T12:44:55","date_gmt":"2025-12-25T07:14:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=26252"},"modified":"2025-12-25T18:25:47","modified_gmt":"2025-12-25T12:55:47","slug":"samudra-pratap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/samudra-pratap\/","title":{"rendered":"Samudra Pratap"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Samudra Pratap Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Indian Coast Guard inducted the first in-built Pollution Control Vessel (PCV), Samudra Pratap under the 02 PCV project of Goa Shipyard Limited.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About\u00a0 Samudra Pratap<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the first <\/span><b>indigenously designed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and built <\/span><b>Pollution Control Vessel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Indian Coast Guard.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the largest ship in the ICG fleet, significantly enhancing the Coast Guard\u2019s operational reach and capability.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Samudra Pratap<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Capacity:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It has a displacement <\/span><b>capacity of 4,170 tonnes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Armament:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a 30mm CRN-91 gun, two 12.7mm stabilised remote-controlled guns with integrated fire control systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Advanced Systems:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It consists of Integrated Bridge System, Integrated Platform Management System, Automated Power Management System, and a high-capacity external firefighting system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the first Indian Coast Guard ship to be equipped with <\/span><b>Dynamic Positioning capability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DP-1), with <\/span><b>FiFi-2 \/ FFV-2 notation certificate.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is equipped with <\/span><b>advanced systems to detect oil spills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is capable of <\/span><b>high precision operations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, recover pollutants <\/span><b>from viscous oil,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> analyse contaminants, and separate oil from contaminated water.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2208089&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samudra Pratap is the first indigenously designed and built Pollution Control Vessel of the Indian Coast Guard.
