text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a<\/span><b> specialized and independent institution under<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY),<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Government of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>independent Business Division within<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the<\/span><b> Digital India Corporation.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to <\/span><b>build a vibrant semiconductor and display ecosystem<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to enable India\u2019s emergence as a global hub for electronics manufacturing and design.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ISM has all the <\/span><b>administrative and financial powers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and is tasked with the responsibility of catalysing the India Semiconductor ecosystem in manufacturing, packaging, and design.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ISM <\/span><b>has an advisory board<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> consisting of some of the <\/span><b>leading global experts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the field of semiconductors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ISM is serving as the <\/span><b>nodal agency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for efficient, coherent, and smooth implementation of the programme for <\/span><b>development of semiconductor and manufacturing ecosystem <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ISM has been working as a <\/span><b>nodal agency<\/b> <b>for the schemes approved under the Semicon India Programme.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Facts about Semicon India Programme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ISM was launched in <\/span><b>2021 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with a total financial outlay of Rs. 76,000 crores under the aegis of the <\/span><b>Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY),<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Government of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is part of the comprehensive program for the <\/span><b>development of sustainable semiconductor and display ecosystems <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The programme aims to<\/span><b> provide financial support to companies investing in semiconductors, display manufacturing, and design ecosystem.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also promotes and <\/span><b>facilitates indigenous Intellectual Property (IP) generation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and encourages, enables, and <\/span><b>incentivizes the Transfer of Technologies (ToT).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following <\/span><b>four schemes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have been introduced under the aforesaid programme:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scheme for setting up of Semiconductor Fabs in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scheme for setting up of Display Fabs in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scheme for setting up of Compound Semiconductors\/Silicon Photonics\/ Sensors Fab and Semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP)\/OSAT facilities in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
