{"id":26447,"date":"2025-10-27T03:09:51","date_gmt":"2025-10-26T21:39:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=26447"},"modified":"2025-10-30T15:20:30","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T09:50:30","slug":"swachh-vayu-survekshan-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/swachh-vayu-survekshan-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Swachh Vayu Survekshan Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Swachh Vayu Survekshan Award:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an initiative by the Ministry<strong> of Environment, Forest and Climate Change<\/strong> (MoEF&amp;CC) to rank cities on the basis of implementation of activities approved under the city action plan and air quality in 130 NCAP cities.<\/li>\n<li>In September 2022, the MoEF&amp;CC released guidelines on \u2018<strong>Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan- Ranking of Cities\u2019<\/strong> under the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-clean-air-programme\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Clean Air Programme (NCAP)<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The aim of launching Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan is to give a ranking to 130 cities in the country for implementing City Action Plans prepared as <strong>part of NCAP<\/strong> for reducing air pollution <strong>up to 40% by 2025-26.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>To <strong>create awareness<\/strong> among all sections of the society<\/li>\n<li>Inform citizens about the health impacts related due to exposure<\/li>\n<li>Comparing air quality conditions at different locations\/cities<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>achieve the goal of NCAP<\/strong> \u201cClean air for all\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>All 130 cities covered under NCAP are assessed based on information submitted under ranking framework by cities\/ULBs <strong>on PRANA portal<\/strong> (dashboard to capture progress under NCAP programme).<\/li>\n<li>Swachh Vayu Survekshan Awards 2024 were presented to the best performing NCAP cities under\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Category-1<\/strong> (population over 10 Lakhs) to Surat, Jabalpur, and Agra;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Category-2<\/strong> (population between 3 and 10 Lakhs) to Firozabad, Amravati, and Jhansi; and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Category-3<\/strong> (population under 3 Lakhs) to Raebareli, Nalgonda, and Nalagarh.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the National Clean Air Programme?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a long-term, time-bound, national level strategy to tackle the air pollution problem across the country in a comprehensive manner. Objectives: Stringently implementing mitigation measures to prevent, control, and abate air pollution.
