in law enforcement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/exercise-samanvay-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Samanvaya<\/strong><\/a><strong> Platform (Joint Cybercrime Investigation Facilitation System<\/strong>): It is a web-based module to act as a <strong>One Stop Portal for data repository of cybercrime<\/strong>, data sharing, crime mapping, data analytics, cooperation, and <strong>coordination platform for LEAs<\/strong> across the country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8216;Cyber Commandos&#8217; Program:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Under this program, a <strong>special wing of trained &#8216;Cyber Commandos&#8217; in States\/UTs<\/strong> and <strong>Central Police Organizations (CPOs)<\/strong> will be established to counter threats of cyber security landscape in the country.<\/li>\n<li>Trained Cyber Commandos will <strong>assist States\/UTs and Central Agencies<\/strong> in securing the digital space.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Suspect Registry<\/strong>: It is a new initiative to <strong>strengthen fraud risk management<\/strong> by creating a <strong>registry of identifiers based on<\/strong> the <strong>National Cybercrime Reporting Portal<\/strong> in <strong>collaboration with banks <\/strong>and financial intermediaries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Facts about Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I4C has been established <strong>under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)<\/strong> to deal with cybercrime in the country in a coordinated and comprehensive manner.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The I4C focuses on tackling issues related to cybercrime for citizens, including improving coordination between various LEAs and stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>The centre is <strong>located in New Delhi.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Functions:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>To act as a <strong>nodal point<\/strong> in the <strong>fight against cybercrime.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Identify the research problems and needs of LEAs and <strong>take up R&amp;D activities<\/strong> in developing new technologies and forensic tools in collaboration with academia \/ research institutes within India and abroad.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>prevent misuse of cyberspace<\/strong> for furthering the cause of extremist and terrorist groups.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Suggest amendments<\/strong>, if required, <strong>in cyber laws<\/strong> to keep pace with fast changing technologies and international cooperation.<\/li>\n<li>To <strong>coordinate all activities related<\/strong> to the <strong>implementation of <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/mutual-legal-assistance-treaty\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLAT)<\/strong><\/a>with other countries related to cybercrimes in consultation with the concerned nodal authority in MHA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Components of I4C:\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit (TAU):<\/strong> For reporting threats pertaining to cybercrimes at regular intervals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP):<\/strong> To report various cybercrime complaints by citizens at all India level on a common platform on a 24&#215;7 basis from \u201canywhere, anytime\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><strong>National Cybercrime Training Centre (NCTC): <\/strong>To impart training to government officials, especially state law enforcement agencies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>National Cybercrime Research and Innovation Centre:<\/strong> To carry out research for the development of indigenous tools for the prevention of cybercrimes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Platform for Joint Cyber Crime Coordination Team:<\/strong> For coordination, sharing of modus operandi of cybercrimes, data\/information among states\/UTs LEAs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cybercrime Ecosystem Management Unit:<\/strong> For creating mass awareness in cyber hygiene for prevention of cybercrimes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>National Cybercrime Forensic Laboratory (Investigation) Ecosystem:<\/strong> For helping LEAs in cyber forensics investigation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>I4C <strong>brings together academia, industry<\/strong>, <strong>public<\/strong> and <strong>government<\/strong> in the prevention, detection, investigation, and prosecution of cybercrimes.<\/li>\n<li>I4C has <strong>envisaged the Cyber Crime Volunteers Program<\/strong> to bring together citizens with passion to serve the nation on a single platform and contribute in fight against cybercrime in the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1<\/strong>: What is the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In)?<\/h3>\n<p>It is the national nodal agency for responding to computer security incidents as and when they occur. It is a functional organisation of the Ministry of Information &amp; Electronics Technology, Government of India, with the objective of securing Indian cyberspace. CERT-In has been operational since January 2004.
