{"id":26569,"date":"2024-09-14T05:31:32","date_gmt":"2024-09-14T00:01:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=26569"},"modified":"2025-10-11T11:03:43","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T05:33:43","slug":"port-blair-renamed-as-sri-vijaya-puram","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/port-blair-renamed-as-sri-vijaya-puram\/","title":{"rendered":"National Instructional Media Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About National Instructional Media Institute:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was formerly known as <strong>Central Instructional Media Institute<\/strong> (CIMI) was established in December 1986 by the Government of India as a Subordinate Office under Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGE&amp;T), Ministry of Labour &amp; Employment<\/li>\n<li>Presently, NIMI is functioning as an autonomous institute under Directorate General of Training (DGT), <strong>Ministry of Skill Development &amp; Entrepreneurship<\/strong> (MSDE), the Govt. of India.<\/li>\n<li>It is the nodal organization for development of <strong>Instructional Media Packages<\/strong> (IMP), including digital content, Question Banks for assessment, for <strong>different Vocational courses.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Recent initiative of NIMI<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It has launched <strong>YouTube Channels for<\/strong> Industrial Training Institute.<\/li>\n<li>It will provide <strong>high-quality training videos<\/strong> to millions of learners across India\u2019s Industrial Training Institute (ITI) skill <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/ecosystem\/\" target=\"_blank\">ecosystem<\/a>, available in <strong>nine languages.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The new channels\u2014offered in English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada\u2014are aimed at helping learners improve their <strong>technical skills <\/strong>through free, easy-to-access digital resources.<\/li>\n<li>Each channel has tutorials, skill demonstrations, and theoretical lessons, all curated by industry experts to ensure relevance in today\u2019s vocational training landscape.<\/li>\n<li>This initiative aligns with India&#8217;s <strong>National Skill Development Mission<\/strong> and the goals of the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/national-education-policy-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Education Policy (NEP)<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>NIMI encourages ITI students, instructors, and skilling enthusiasts to subscribe to their preferred regional channels to stay updated with the latest content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the National Skill Development Mission?<\/h3>\n<p>It was approved by the Union Cabinet in 2015 to create convergence across sectors and States in terms of skill training activities.
