{"id":26720,"date":"2024-09-20T01:39:02","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T20:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=26720"},"modified":"2025-10-13T12:11:34","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T06:41:34","slug":"white-revolution-2-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/white-revolution-2-0\/","title":{"rendered":"What is White Revolution 2.0?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About White Revolution 2.0:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a comprehensive initiative aimed at <strong>empowering women farmers<\/strong> and creating job opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>The programme focuses on <strong>four key areas:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Empowering women farmers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhancing local milk production<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Strengthening dairy infrastructure<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Boosting dairy exports.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Under White Revolution 2.0, the government <strong>aims to increase milk procurementby dairy cooperative societies by 50 percent over the next five years<\/strong> by providing market access to dairy farmers in uncovered villages\/panchayats and increasing the share of the organized sector in milk procurement.<\/li>\n<li>The plan involves <strong>setting up and strengthening 100,000 newand existing district cooperative societies,<\/strong> multi-purpose district cooperative societies, and <strong>multi-purpose <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/primary-agricultural-credit-society-pacs\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Primary Agricultural Credit Societies<\/strong><\/a><strong> (M-PACS),<\/strong> which will be <strong>linked to milk routes<\/strong> with necessary infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Providing enabling infrastructure<\/strong> e.g. AMCU (Automatic Milk Collection Unit), DPMCU (Data Processing Milk Collection Units), testing equipment, Bulk Milk Coolers, etc., will be the key component of the initiative for carrying out dairy activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Initially,<\/strong> the <strong>National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) will fund the initiative<\/strong> from its own resources, providing Rs 40,000 per M-PACS to 1,000 M-PACS.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Future funding<\/strong> is <strong>expected from <\/strong>the <strong>proposed National Programme for Dairy Development 2.0scheme <\/strong>of the department animal husbandry and dairying (DAHD).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1<\/strong>: What is the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)?<\/h3>\n<p>The NDDB was created to promote, finance and support producer-owned and controlled organizations. NDDB\u2019s programmes and activities seek to strengthen farmer cooperatives and support national policies that are favorable to the growth of such institutions. Fundamental to NDDB&#8217;s efforts are cooperative strategies and principles.
