{"id":26888,"date":"2026-03-25T12:28:38","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T06:58:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=26888"},"modified":"2026-03-25T13:07:42","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T07:37:42","slug":"globe-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/globe-network\/","title":{"rendered":"GlobE Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>GlobE Network Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, India hosted the 12th Steering Committee Meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) in New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About GlobE Network<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The GlobE Network is a global platform of <\/span><b>specialised anti-corruption law enforcement authorities.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was established under the Riyadh Initiative during <\/span><b>Saudi Arabia&#8217;s G20 Presidency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is operating under the framework of the <\/span><b>United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC)<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Members:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 The Network <\/span><b>comprises 135 member countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and 250 member authorities, along with 18 observers including EUROPOL, the <\/span><b>World Bank<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Governance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>steering committee,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> consisting of <\/span><b>one chair, one vice-chair, and 13 members<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, provides leadership and direction for the organisation.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Ministry of Home Affairs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the central authority for GloBE Network, while <\/span><b>the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate are its membe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">r authorities from India.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Functions:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The GlobE Network complements formal legal assistance mechanisms by enabling faster, more flexible, and direct agency-to-agency engagement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It enables direct, practitioner-level cooperation among member agencies for the investigation, prosecution, and recovery of proceeds of corruption.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Network is governed by its members and is supported by <\/span><b>the<a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/united-nations-office-on-drugs-and-crime-unodc\/\" target=\"_blank\"> United Nations Office against Drugs and Crime (UNODC) <\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which provides the <\/span><b>Network\u2019s secretariat.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsonair.gov.in\/cbi-indias-primary-agency-for-anti-corruption-investigation-prosecution-director-ed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">News On Air<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GlobE Network is a global platform of specialised anti-corruption law enforcement authorities.
