{"id":27035,"date":"2024-10-04T07:13:41","date_gmt":"2024-10-04T01:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=27035"},"modified":"2025-10-13T14:56:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T09:26:23","slug":"international-energy-efficiency-hub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/international-energy-efficiency-hub\/","title":{"rendered":"International Energy Efficiency Hub"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About International Energy Efficiency Hub:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a global platform dedicated to fostering collaboration and <strong>promoting energy efficiency worldwide.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It was <strong>established in 2020<\/strong> as the successor to the <strong>International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation<\/strong> (IPEEC), in which India was a member,<\/li>\n<li>The hub brings together governments, international organizations, and private sector entities to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Member countries: Sixteen countries<\/strong> have joined the Hub (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, European Commission, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Russia, Saudi Arabia, United States and United Kingdom).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementing agency: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/bureau-of-energy-efficiency\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Bureau of Energy Efficiency<\/strong> (BEE)<\/a>, the statutory agency, has been designated as the <strong>implementing agency<\/strong> for the Hub on behalf of India.<\/li>\n<li>BEE will play a crucial role in facilitating India&#8217;s participation in the Hub&#8217;s activities and ensuring that India&#8217;s contributions align with its national energy efficiency goals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>India will gain <strong>access to a vast network of experts<\/strong> and resources, enabling it to enhance its domestic energy efficiency initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>The country will <strong>also contribute to global efforts<\/strong> to <strong>address climate change<\/strong> by promoting energy-efficient technologies and practices.<\/li>\n<li>The country&#8217;s participation in this global platform will help to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy and <strong>improve energy security.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This move solidifies India&#8217;s <strong>commitment to sustainable development<\/strong> and aligns with its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1:What is the Bureau of Energy Efficiency?<\/h3>\n<p>It was established in 2002 under the provisions of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001.
