{"id":27109,"date":"2024-10-07T07:32:37","date_gmt":"2024-10-07T02:02:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=27109"},"modified":"2025-10-15T12:33:52","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T07:03:52","slug":"emergency-use-listing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/emergency-use-listing\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency Use Listing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Emergency Use Listing:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>EUL <\/strong>Procedure is a risk-based procedure for assessing and listing <strong>unlicensed vaccines, therapeutics and in vitro diagnostics<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Its aim is to expedite the availability of these products to people affected by a public health emergency.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>This will <strong>assist interested UN procurement agencies<\/strong> and Member States in determining the acceptability of using specific products, based on an essential set of available quality, safety, and efficacy and performance data.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Criteria for products listing under EUL<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>disease<\/strong> for which the product is intended is serious or immediately life t<strong>hreatening<\/strong> has the potential of causing <strong>an outbreak, epidemic or pandemic.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Existing products<\/strong> have <strong>not been successful<\/strong> in eradicating the disease or preventing outbreaks.<\/li>\n<li>The product is manufactured in compliance with current <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/good-manufacturing-practices-gmp-standards\/\" target=\"_blank\">Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)<\/a> in the case of medicines and vaccines and under a functional Quality Management System (QMS) in the case of IVDs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is Monkeypox?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a rare zoonotic viral disease caused by infection with the Mpox virus.
