{"id":27407,"date":"2024-10-21T01:53:53","date_gmt":"2024-10-20T20:23:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=27407"},"modified":"2025-04-08T09:26:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T03:56:21","slug":"national-water-awards-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-water-awards-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"National Water Awards 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About National Water Awards:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>first edition<\/strong> of the National Water Awards was introduced by the <strong>Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation in 2018.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The award focuses on the good work and efforts made by individuals and the organizations across the country in attaining the <strong>government\u2019s vision of a \u2018Jal Samridh Bharat\u2019.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The awards are for creating awareness among the people about the importance of water and motivating them to adopt best water usage practices.<\/li>\n<li>The 5th National Water Awards, 2023,is given for <strong>09 categories<\/strong> viz Best State, Best District, Best Village Panchayat, Best Urban Local Body, Best School or College, Best Industry, Best Water User Association, Best Institution (other than school or college), and Best Civil Society.\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>In the <strong>category of Best State<\/strong>, the first prize has been conferred upon <strong>Odisha<\/strong>, with <strong>Uttar Pradesh<\/strong> securing the second position, and <strong>Gujarat and Puducherry<\/strong> jointly securing the third position.<\/li>\n<li>Each award winner will be conferred with a <strong>citation and a trophy<\/strong> as well as cash prizes in certain categories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)?<\/h3>\n<p>It is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) by 2024 to all households in rural India. It is based on a community approach to water and will include extensive Information, Education and communication as key components of the mission.
