Symptoms can range from diarrhea to life-threatening damage to the colon.<\/li>\n<li>Illness from C. difficile often occurs <strong>after using antibiotic medicines.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It mostly affects older adults in hospitals or in long-term care settings.
