{"id":27510,"date":"2026-10-23T13:17:56","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T07:47:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=27510"},"modified":"2026-10-23T13:19:23","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T07:49:23","slug":"exercise-simbex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/exercise-simbex\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise SIMBEX 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Exercise SIMBAX 2026 Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the 33rd edition of exercise SIMBAX was commenced at Visakhapatnam.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Exercise SIMBEX 2026<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Singapore India Maritime Bilateral Exercise<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SIMBEX) is <\/span><b>conducted annually<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the <\/span><b>Indian Navy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the Republic of <\/span><b>Singapore Navy (<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RSN).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Background:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> SIMBEX, which began as \u2018<\/span><b>Exercise Lion King\u2019 in 1994,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has since evolved into one of the most significant bilateral maritime collaborations between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Phases: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exercise will be conducted in <\/span><b>two phases.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>The Harbour Phase:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It will include professional interactions, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs), cross-deck visits, sporting engagements, and planning conferences.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>The Sea Phase: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will be conducted<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in <\/span><b>the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/bay-of-bengal\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bay of Bengal<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will feature maritime operations and tactical exercises, <\/span><b>including Anti-Submarine Warfare<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ASW), anti-surface and anti-air warfare drills, seamanship evolutions, and tactical manoeuvres.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Significance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> SIMBEX-2026 reaffirms the <\/span><b>longstanding maritime partnership<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between India and Singapore and their shared commitment to enhancing interoperability, addressing common maritime security challenges, and promoting peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Other Exercises with Singapore:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Exercise <\/span><b>AGNI WARRIOR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Military Exercise), <\/span><b>Air Force Exercise\u00a0 Joint Military Training<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (JMT).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleaseDetail.aspx?PRID=2326348&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Exercise SIMBEX 2026 marks the 33rd India-Singapore naval exercise in Visakhapatnam.
