developed by<\/strong> the Indian Space Research Organisation (<strong>ISRO<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>It was launched successfully on November 26, 2022, using ISRO\u2019s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C54).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/eos-06-satellite\/\" target=\"_blank\">EOS-06<\/a> is part of the Oceansat series of satellites, which are designed to monitor and <strong>study various aspects of the Earth&#8217;s oceans and coastal zones.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <strong>primary objective<\/strong> of EOS-06 is to provide <strong>continuity to the services of<\/strong> its <strong>predecessors<\/strong> (Oceansat-1 and Oceansat-2) with enhanced payload capabilities to <strong>support oceanographic and atmospheric studies.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This includes applications in <strong>ocean surface studies, coastal zone management<\/strong>, and <strong>marine weather forecasting.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About INSAT-3DR:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Launched in September 2016, INSAT-3DR is the s<strong>uccessor to INSAT-3D, owned and operated by ISRO <\/strong>(Indian Space Research Organisation).<\/li>\n<li>It is an <strong>advanced meteorological satellite<\/strong> of India configured with an <strong>imaging system and an atmospheric sounder.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The significant improvements incorporated in INSAT-3DR are:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Imaging in the middle infrared band<\/strong> to provide <strong>nighttime pictures of low clouds<\/strong> and fog.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Imaging in<\/strong> two <strong>thermal infrared bands<\/strong> for <strong>estimation of Sea Surface Temperature<\/strong> (SST) with better accuracy.<\/li>\n<li>Higher spatial resolution in the visible and thermal infrared bands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>INSAT-3DR will provide service continuity to earlier meteorological missions of
