Agricultural Research (ICAR) has established a high-level Special Task Force (STF) to formulate mitigating strategies for the agricultural sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Indian Council of Agricultural Research<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>autonomous organisation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the <\/span><b>Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Background:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It was established on 16 July, 1929 as a registered society under the <\/span><b>Societies Registration Act, 1860.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was started in pursuance of the report of the <\/span><b>Royal Commission on Agriculture.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the apex body for <\/span><b>coordinating, guiding, and managing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> research and education in <\/span><b>agriculture, including horticulture, fisheries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and animal sciences, throughout the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is responsible for guiding research institutes and universities in <\/span><b>agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and animal sciences.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Mandate:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ICAR\u2019s primary mandate <\/span><b>focuses on the thematic areas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Crop Science, Horticultural Science, Natural Resource Management, Agricultural Engineering, Animal Science, Fisheries Science, Agricultural Education and Agricultural Extension.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ICAR has played a pioneering role i<\/span><b>n ushering in the Green Revolution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and subsequent developments in agriculture in India through its research and technology development.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has played a major
