Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan) programme to several African countries and island nations by using the International Solar Alliance platform.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About PM-KUSUM Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>launched in 2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the objective to provide <\/span><b>energy and water security<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to farmers, enhance their income, de-dieselize the farm sector, and reduce environmental pollution.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Target:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To add Solar capacity of about <\/span><b>34,800 MW by March 2026<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>The eligible categories for KUSUM Scheme are:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An individual farmer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A group of farmers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FPO or Farmer producer organization.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Panchayat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Co-operatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Water User Associations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Components of PM-KUSUM Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Component A: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Setting up of <\/span><b>10,000 MW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Decentralized Grid Connected Renewable Energy Power Plants on barren land.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this component, renewable energy based power plants (REPP) of <\/span><b>capacity 500 kW to 2 MW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be set up by individual farmers\/ group of farmers\/ cooperatives\/ panchayats\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/farmers-producer-organisations-fpos\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Farmer Producer Organisations<\/strong> <\/a>(FPO)\/ on barren\/fallow land.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The power generated will be <\/span><b>purchased by the local DISCOM<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at a <\/span><b>pre-fixed tariff<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> determined by the respective State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The renewable energy power project will be installed <\/span><b>within a five km radius of the sub-stations.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Component B: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Installation of <\/span><b>20 lakhs <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of standalone <\/span><b>Solar Powered Agriculture Pumps.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Individual farmers will be supported to install standalone solar Agriculture pumps of capacity <\/span><b>up to 7.5 HP<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the replacement of existing diesel Agriculture pumps \/ irrigation systems in off-grid areas, where grid supply is not available.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Component C: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Solarisation of <strong>15 Lakh Grid Connected Agriculture Pumps<\/strong>.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this Component, individual farmers having grid connected agriculture pump will be supported to <\/span><b>solarise pumps.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The farmer will be able to use the generated solar power to meet the irrigation needs and the excess solar power will be sold to DISCOMs at pre-fixed
