{"id":27637,"date":"2025-10-27T08:22:45","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T02:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=27637"},"modified":"2025-10-29T12:30:47","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T07:00:47","slug":"mission-for-integrated-development-of-horticulture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/mission-for-integrated-development-of-horticulture\/","title":{"rendered":"Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>Central Sponsored Scheme<\/strong> (CSS) is being implemented w.e.f. <strong>2014-15<\/strong> for holistic growth of the <strong>horticulture sector.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It promotes the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, root and tuber crops, mushrooms, spices, flowers, aromatic plants, coconut, cashew, cocoa and bamboo.<\/li>\n<li>MIDH also provides technical advice and administrative support to State Governments\/ State Horticulture Missions (SHMs) for the Saffron Mission and other horticulture related activities Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY)\/NMSA.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Under MIDH, <strong>Government of India<\/strong> (GOI) <strong>contributes 60% of<\/strong> total outlay for developmental programmes in all the states except states in North East and Himalayas, <strong>40% share<\/strong> is contributed by <strong>State Governments.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the case of North Eastern States and Himalayan States, <strong>GOI contributes 90%.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In case of National Horticulture Board (NHB), Coconut Development Board (CDB), Central Institute for Horticulture (CIH), Nagaland and the National Level Agencies (NLA), GOI contributes 100%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Components<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>National Horticulture Mission<\/strong> (NHM) &#8211; Focuses on the development of horticulture in states and union territories.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States<\/strong> (HMNEH) &#8211; Addresses the specific needs of the northeastern and Himalayan regions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>National Bamboo Mission<\/strong> (NBM) &#8211;
