{"id":27840,"date":"2024-11-08T05:11:50","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T23:41:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=27840"},"modified":"2025-10-13T12:45:52","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T07:15:52","slug":"tuna-fish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/tuna-fish\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuna Fish"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Tuna Fish:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>They are <strong>pelagic marine fish<\/strong>, spending their entire lives relatively near the surface of tropical, subtropical and temperate oceans and seas.<\/li>\n<li>There are seven main species of tuna consumed by humans including <strong>albacore, skipjack, yellowfin and three species of bluefin tuna.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Habitat:<\/strong> They can be found in tropical and temperate regions of all oceans.<\/li>\n<li>Unlike other fish, tuna are warm blooded. Their body temperatures are as much as 12 degrees C higher than the water they swim in.<\/li>\n<li>Tuna swim incredible distances as they migrate.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance of Tuna Cluster: <\/strong>It is expected to generate economies of scale, increase incomes, and accelerate organized growth in fisheries across the country.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was launched in <strong>September 2020<\/strong> with an aim to double the income of fish farmers and fishers in the country.<\/li>\n<li>It focuses on activities with potential to generate employment such as seaweed and ornamental fish cultivation.
