{"id":28006,"date":"2024-11-15T04:01:20","date_gmt":"2024-11-14T22:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=28006"},"modified":"2025-04-08T16:01:50","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T10:31:50","slug":"svastik-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/svastik-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"SVASTIK Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About SVASTIK Initiative:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Scientifically Validated Traditional Knowledge<\/strong> (<strong>SVASTIK) <\/strong>is a national initiative which is coordinated by <strong>CSIR-NIScPR.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>SVASTIK aims to <strong>preserve and perpetuate<\/strong> the practice of the appropriate tradition, instill the scientific temperament of verifying tradition scientifically, and boost public faith in our traditional knowledge and practices.<\/li>\n<li>Various research organisations, higher education institutions, experts and NGOs have joined hands with SVASTIK to document and disseminate content on scientifically validated Indian traditional knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>The initiative was launched to communicate scientifically validated traditional knowledge of India to society.<\/li>\n<li>The NIScPR has disseminated socially engaging SVASTIK <strong>stories in 17 Indian languages via social media.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Moreover, our two SVASTIK publications provide authenticated stories on traditional knowledge, inspiring young students to explore science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is CSIR?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is India\u2019s <strong>leading publicly funded R&amp;D organization<\/strong> that promotes advanced knowledge in natural sciences and engineering, and translates it for the benefit of the people.<\/li>\n<li>It is a registered Society under <strong>Societies Registration Act, 1860.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has a dynamic network of 37 national laboratories, 39 outreach centres, 1 Innovation Complexes, and three units with a pan-India presence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Organisation Structure<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>President:<\/strong> Prime Minister of India (Ex-officio)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vice President:<\/strong> Union Minister of Science and Technology (Ex-officio)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Governing Body:<\/strong> The Director-General is the head of the governing body.<\/li>\n<li>The other ex-officio member is the finance secretary (expenditures).<\/li>\n<li>Other members&#8217; terms are of <strong>three years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Headquarter:<\/strong> New Delhi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is Traditional medicine?<\/h3>\n<p>It refers to health practices, approaches, knowledge and beliefs incorporating plant, animal and mineral based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques and exercises, applied singularly or in combination to treat, diagnose and prevent illnesses or maintain well-being.<\/p>\n<p><strong>News: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleaseIframePage.aspx?PRID=2073026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#8220;Interdisciplinary Research and Collaboration are essential to Disseminate India&#8217;s Traditional Knowledge&#8221; Prof. K.K.
