{"id":28167,"date":"2024-11-22T03:08:03","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T21:38:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=28167"},"modified":"2025-04-08T17:14:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T11:44:35","slug":"international-cooperative-alliance-ica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/international-cooperative-alliance-ica\/","title":{"rendered":"What is the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA)?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About International Cooperative Alliance (ICA):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The ICA is a <strong>non-profit international association<\/strong> which unites, <strong>represents<\/strong> and serves <strong>cooperatives worldwide<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Founded in 1895<\/strong>, it is <strong>one of the oldest non-governmental organisations<\/strong> and <strong>one of the largest<\/strong> ones measured by the <strong>number of people represented<\/strong> with <strong>one billion cooperative members<\/strong> on the planet.<\/li>\n<li>It is the <strong>apex body representing cooperatives<\/strong>, which are estimated to be <strong>around 3 million worldwide,<\/strong> providing a global voice and forum for knowledge, expertise, and coordinated action for and about cooperatives.<\/li>\n<li>The ICA is the <strong>guardian of the Statement on the Cooperative Identity<\/strong>, which includes a definition, 10 values, and 7 operational principles;
