<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which has been developed with the support of <\/span><b>\u201cBiotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council\u201d (BIRAC).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been brought to market under the <\/span><b>trade name \u201cMiqnaf\u201d.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>first molecule entirely conceptualized,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> developed and clinically validated in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the country\u2019s first indigenously developed antibiotic aimed at <\/span><b>tackling style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nafithromycin\u2019s efficacy stands out as it targets <\/span><b>both typical and atypical pathogens<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, offering a potent solution where no new antibiotic in this class has been developed worldwide for over three decades.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What is Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It occurs when <\/span><b>bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> no longer respond to antimicrobial medicines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result of drug resistance, antibiotics and other antimicrobial medicines become <\/span><b>ineffective<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and infections become difficult or impossible to treat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It increases the risk of disease <\/span><b>spread, severe illness, disability and
