It can grow to a length of about 0.92 meters.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can have a wingspan approaching 2.14 meters and have a mass of about 3.6 kilograms.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The species displays <\/span><b>reverse sexual dimorphism,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as do most birds of prey, in which <\/span><b>males are usually smaller<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> than the females.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Adults <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are<\/span><b> black-brown<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in color. They have a <\/span><b>pale golden crown and nape<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a <\/span><b>grey base that extends to the tail.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like other eagles, they have <\/span><b>strong legs and feet.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Their <\/span><b>feet include long, curved talons <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that they <\/span><b>use to seize, kill, and carry their prey.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Average lifespan: 56 years<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Eastern Imperial Eagle <\/b><b>Conservation Status<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is classified as &#8216;<b>Vulnerable<\/b>&#8216; under the IUCN Red List.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR)<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is located in the Nilgiris District of <\/span><b>Tamil Nadu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, spread over 321 sq. km. at the <\/span><b>tri-junction <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of three states, viz., <\/span><b>Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It lies on the northeastern and northwestern <\/span><b>slopes of the Nilgiri hills, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which is a part of the <\/span><b>Western Ghats.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/nilgiri-biosphere-reserve\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>first biosphere reserve in India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The name <\/span><b>Mudumalai <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">means \u201d<\/span><b>the ancient hill range\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
