text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is situated in the <\/span><b>Bharatpur <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">district of <\/span><b>Rajasthan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was earlier <\/span><b>known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is recognised as one of the world\u2019s most important bird breeding and feeding grounds.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was founded in the late <\/span><b>19th century<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a hunting <\/span><b>preserve by Suraj Mal, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>maharaja of the Bharatpur princely state,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and became a bird sanctuary in 1956.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Declared a national park in 1981, it was renamed Keoladeo for the ancient temple in the park dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has an area of 29 sq.km.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>only one of its kind in India <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which is <\/span><b>enclosed by a 2-meters boundary wall <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to fend off encroachments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Ramsar site<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and also a <\/span><b>UNESCO World Heritage Site.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vegetation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Woodlands<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>swamps<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>wet grasslands<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cover a large part of the park.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The vegetation here is of a <\/span><b>dry deciduous type,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with medium-sized trees and shrubs found inside its forest.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Flora<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Some of the trees which can be commonly spotted inside the park are <\/span><b>kadam, jamun, babul,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> kandi, ber, kair, and piloo.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fauna<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is home to a range of mammals and reptiles\u2014including <\/span><b>pythons <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and other <\/span><b>snakes, deer, sambars, blackbucks,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> jackals, monitor lizards, and fishing cats.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is strategically located in the middle of the <\/span><b>Central Asian migratory flyway.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is home to more than <\/span><b>360 species of permanent and migratory birds.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the annual period of migratory visitors (about October to March), birds from throughout the world can be found in the park. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
