{"id":28519,"date":"2025-11-15T11:23:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T05:53:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=28519"},"modified":"2025-11-18T13:48:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T08:18:13","slug":"rutag-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/rutag-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"RuTAG Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>RuTAG Initiative Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India chaired the second annual review meeting of the Rural Technology Action Group (RuTAG) 2.0 initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About RuTAG Initiative<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Rural Technology Action Group<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (RuTAG) is an initiative of the <\/span><b>Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (OPSA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which was launched in 2004.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was conceptualized as a mechanism to provide a <\/span><b>higher level of Science &amp;Technology intervention <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and support <\/span><b>for rural areas.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this initiative, the interventions are <\/span><b>designed to be primarily demand-driven<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, focusing on <\/span><b>bridging technology gaps<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the grassroots level, upgrading technology, and providing training and demonstrations through innovative projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Objectives of RuTAG Initiative<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Connecting Stakeholders:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Collaborating with stakeholders Non-Government Organizations, Self Help Groups, Community Organizations, and Start-ups to identify <\/span><b>sector-specific technology needs.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Demand-driven technologies:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Developeing technologies based on socio-economic data coherent with national\/regional priorities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Prototype Validation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ValidatIng developed prototypes and explored commercialization with scalability aspects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Commercialization:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Commercializing the potentially validated technologies for national\/global markets.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What is RuTAG 2.0?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was launched by the Office of the PSA <\/span><b>in April 2023.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Focus:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> With a focus on <\/span><b>commercialization and broader dissemination<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of developed <\/span><b>technologies as products,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ensuring wider accessibility and socio-economic impact.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will emphasize <\/span><b>translating innovation into market-ready products<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reflecting its commitment to driving transformative changes in rural areas and empowering communities for sustainable development.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2190083\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RuTAG Initiative is an initiative of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (OPSA) which was launched in 2004.
