It does so with a fraction of the time and computing resources required for traditional approaches.<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>part of Google\u2019s<\/strong> growing suite of next-generation AI-based weather models.<\/li>\n<li>It can predict the weather for 15 days in just 8 minutes. The old way of predicting weather usually takes hours.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The AI-powered program was <strong>trained on four decades of historical data<\/strong> through 2018, taken from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts\u2019 (ECMWF) historical archives.<\/li>\n<li>The GenCast model makes predictions of several variables such as <strong>temperature, pressure, humidity and wind speed <\/strong>at the surface and at 13 different heights, on a grid that divides the world up into 0.25-degree regions of latitude and longitude.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance: <\/strong>Itoutperforms the current leading system, uses probabilistic ensemble forecasting to predict a range of possible weather scenarios, offering a more comprehensive picture of the upcoming conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is Machine learning?<\/h3>\n<p>It is an essential branch of artificial intelligence that employs data and algorithms to mimic human learning processes, gradually enhancing its accuracy.
