{"id":28735,"date":"2025-10-27T08:37:15","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T03:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=28735"},"modified":"2025-10-28T13:34:18","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T08:04:18","slug":"darwin-wasp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/darwin-wasp\/","title":{"rendered":"Darwin wasp"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Darwin wasp:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>These <strong>wasps are parasitoids,<\/strong> meaning their larvae feed and develop on or within the bodies of other arthropods.<\/li>\n<li>They parasitize many insect groups, especially <strong>Lepidoptera<\/strong> (moths and butterflies), Coleoptera (beetles), and other <strong>Hymenoptera <\/strong>(ants, bees, and wasps).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Appearance:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>These wasps have a body formed of a head, thorax, and abdomen, and six legs.<\/li>\n<li>They have a pair of large compound eyes on the side of the head and three ocelli (simple eyes) on the top of the head.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They have <strong>longer antennae<\/strong> with more segments, or sections.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Adult wasps typically feed on <strong>nectar and pollen<\/strong>, and as solitary wasps, only come together to mate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Breeding: <\/strong>The females lay their eggs in or on the larvae or pupae (rarely eggs or adults) of the host.
