{"id":29254,"date":"2025-01-07T12:38:21","date_gmt":"2025-01-07T07:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=29254"},"modified":"2025-04-09T01:40:59","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T20:10:59","slug":"production-linked-incentive-scheme-1-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/production-linked-incentive-scheme-1-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Production Linked Incentive Scheme 1.1"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Production Linked Incentive Scheme 1.1:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It shall be implemented during the production period of <strong>FY 2025-26 to FY 2029-30.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It covers <strong>five (5) product categories<\/strong> in line with the existing PLI Scheme, namely Coated \/ Plated Steel Products, High Strength \/ Wear resistant Steel, Specialty Rails, Alloy Steel Products &amp; Steel wires and Electrical Steel.\n<ul>\n<li>These products have a wide range of application, from white goods to transformers to Automobiles and other niche sectors.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Changes in scheme:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Reduction in <strong>threshold investment &amp; capacity<\/strong> for the CRGO product sub-categories, allowing carry forward of excess production to the immediately following year for the purpose of claiming incentive and reduction in threshold investment under capacity augmentation mode.<\/li>\n<li>Not all companies would need to install new mills.<\/li>\n<li>Recognising the importance of producing quality steel, energy efficiency and other process improvements, <strong>companies investing in augmentation<\/strong> of existing capacities will be allowed to participate in the scheme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The Centre had earlier introduced the PLI scheme to encourage <strong>domestic production of specialty steel<\/strong> and lower imports by drawing in capital investments.<\/li>\n<li>It was initially launched for three sectors to address the need to boost domestic manufacturing during COVID-19 lockdown, the PLI scheme was <strong>later extended to include steel in November 2020.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is Cold-rolled grain-oriented steel (CRGO)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>high-value steel<\/strong> used in <strong>production of power transformers<\/strong> used in HT power distribution.
