{"id":29808,"date":"2026-10-11T13:38:52","date_gmt":"2026-10-11T08:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=29808"},"modified":"2026-10-11T16:57:37","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T11:27:37","slug":"pradhan-mantri-dhan-dhanya-krishi-yojana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pradhan-mantri-dhan-dhanya-krishi-yojana\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Pradhan Mantri <\/b><b>Dhan-Dhanya <\/b><b>Krishi Yojana Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) completed its first year\u00a0 marking a year of focused district-level action.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About <\/b><b>Pradhan Mantri <\/b><b>Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was launched in <\/span><b>2025 to support farmers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>objective of the scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is to<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enhance <\/span><b>agricultural productivity,<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Increase adoption of <\/span><b>crop diversification and sustainable agricultural practices,<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Augment post-harvest storage at the panchayat and block levels,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improve irrigation facilities, and<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facilitate availability of<\/span><b> long-term and short-term credit.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>bridges developmental gaps<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by integrating 36 schemes from 11 different departments, ensuring convergence in efforts and efficient resource utilisation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It focuses on transforming agriculture and allied <\/span><b>activities across 100 Aspirational Agricultural Districts.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These districts were identified using three key indicators: <\/span><b>low productivity, low cropping intensity, and less agricultural credit disbursement.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The selection also considered the share of net cropped area and operational holdings in each State and Union Territory. <\/span><b>Each State<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has at <\/span><b>least one selected district.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Time Period:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is a <\/span><b>six-year initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, beginning <\/span><b>with 2025-26.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Administrative Structure for Implementation<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PMDDKY scheme follows a three-tier implementation structure-<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>District Level:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>District Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana Samiti<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, headed by the District Collector\/DM, <\/span><b>prepares and implements<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the District Action Plan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>State Level:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The State Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana Samiti, headed by the <\/span><b>Chief Secretary<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the State, <\/span><b>reviews and monitors the District Plans.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>National Level:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Two committees oversee the scheme. The <\/span><b>National Executive Committee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is headed by the <\/span><b>Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
