<\/span><b>Gujarat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Course<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>originates <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the western and southern <\/span><b>slopes of the Pavagadh style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Porcupines, the common Indian civet, the jungle cat, cobras, pythons, the checkered keelback, and the Bengal monitor are some of the species found in the ravines on the banks of this river.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vishwamitri is also where the protected and vulnerable species of the <\/span><b>Indian crocodile (Crocodylus palustris), <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also known as the <\/span><b>mugger, resides.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A 2025 census recorded 442 mugger crocodiles within a 21-kilometre stretch flowing through Vadodara.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Historically, the river has been central to Vadodara\u2019s development, with h<\/span><b>uman settlements along its banks dating back to 1000 <\/span><b>common name <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">comes from <\/span><b>magar<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which <\/span><b>translates loosely to \u201cwater monster\u201d in
