text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a<\/span><b> statutory body <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">set up by the Central Government under the <\/span><b>Dam Safety Act, 2021.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It operates with a clear mandate to <\/span><b>regulate, oversee, and inspect dams.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>headed by a chairman<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>assisted by five members to lead its five wings <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; policy and research, technical, regulation, disaster and resilience, and administration and finance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has its <\/span><b>headquarters <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at <\/span><b>New Delhi.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Functions <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Authority include:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>implementing the policies formulated by <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>National Committee on Dam Safety;<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
