sought time-bound action in Jharkhand for comprehensive dam safety evaluation and rehabilitation of Category-II dams.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Dam Safety Authority<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a statutory body set up by <\/span><b>the Central Government under the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/dam-safety-act-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dam Safety Act, 2021<\/a>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It operates with a clear mandate to <\/span><b>regulate, oversee, and inspect dams.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>headed by a chairman<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and assisted by five members to lead its five wings \u2013 policy and research, technical, regulation, disaster and 400;\"> Implementing the policies formulated by the National Committee on Dam Safety;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Resolve Issues: Resolving issues<\/b> <b>between State Dam Safety Organisations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SDSOs), or between a SDSO and any dam owner in that state;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Regulation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Specifying regulations for inspection and investigation of dams;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Accreditation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Providing accreditation to agencies working on construction, design, and alteration of dams.<\/span><\/li>\n<li
