Kendu leaf is one of the most important <\/span><b>non-wood forest products of Odisha.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Characteristics:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has a matching aroma with tobacco.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>hygroscopic in nature<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which helps drying leaves to withstand crack.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Primary use:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Used to roll tobacco into bidis (local cigarettes); also holds medicinal value.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Key Producer States:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Odisha is the third-largest producer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> after MP and Chhattisgarh.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The uniqueness of Odisha Kendu leaves <\/span><b>is its processed form<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
