<strong>launched by Union MSME Ministry in 2020.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It provides <strong>free-of-cost and paperless MSME registration<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Who is eligible for MSME registration<\/strong>?<\/li>\n<li><strong>All entities classified as Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises<\/strong> as per the MSME classification are eligible to apply for MSME registration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>An individual cannot apply for MSME registration.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>A proprietorship, partnership firm, company<\/strong>, trust, or society with <strong>an investment below Rs.50 crore <\/strong>and <strong>annual turnover below Rs.250 crore<\/strong> is eligible for MSME registration.<\/li>\n<li>The portal <strong>provides instructions for the registration process<\/strong>. <strong>No enterprise shall have more than one Udyam Registration.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This portal is <strong>also integrated with the Central Board of Direct Tax (CBDT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) networks.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What is the new definition of MSMEs?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Indian Government has <strong>modified the definition of MSMEs<\/strong> under the Atmanirbhar Package announced <strong>in the year 2020<\/strong> to increase the number of enterprises eligible for being classified as micro, small and medium enterprises.\u00a0 <strong>As per the new definition<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>An enterprise is classified as a <strong>\u201cmicro\u201d enterprise<\/strong> when its <strong>investments do not exceed Rs. 1 crore<\/strong> while <strong>its annual turnovers remain below Rs. 5 crore<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>An enterprise is considered <strong>\u201csmall\u201d when its investments<\/strong> range <strong>between Rs.1 crore to Rs.10 crore<\/strong> while its annual <strong>turnover ranges<\/strong> between <strong>Rs. 5 crore to Rs 50 crore.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>An enterprise is considered a \u201cmedium\u201d <strong>when its investments<\/strong> range between <strong>Rs.10 crore to Rs.50 crore<\/strong>,\u00a0 while its <strong>annual turnover<\/strong> ranges between <strong>Rs. 50 crores to Rs 250 crores.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGS) for MSMEs?<\/h3>\n<p>Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGS) was launched to strengthen credit delivery system and to facilitate flow of credit to the MSE sector, create access to finance for unserved, under-served and underprivileged, making availability of finance from conventional lenders to new generation entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n<p><a
