It was\u00a0<strong>rediscovered in 1948<\/strong> in several remote valleys on New Zealand\u2019s South Island, and t<strong>heir numbers have been steadily growing since then.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Features:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>They are\u00a0<strong>large, stout birds with vibrant plumage.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>They have predominantly b<strong>lue feathers on their bodies, green wings, and a large red beak.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Their\u00a0<strong>legs are pink,<\/strong> and they have a\u00a0<strong>white undertail.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Size<\/strong>: They\u00a0<strong>grow up to the size of a large hen<\/strong> and can\u00a0<strong>weigh as much as 3kg.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Breeding<\/strong>: They breed\u00a0<strong>only once a year, raising one to two chick<\/strong>s.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lifespan<\/strong>: They live\u00a0<strong>up to 18 years in the wild and 22 years in sanctuaries.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Diet<\/strong>: They live on a\u00a0<strong>high-fibre diet of starchy leaves and seeds.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the Pleistocene era?<\/h3>\n<p>The Pleistocene epoch is a geological time period that is part of the Quaternary period. It is one of the more recent epochs in Earth&#8217;s history and is known for being a time of extensive glaciations and significant climate fluctuations.
