{"id":31086,"date":"2023-09-02T05:11:02","date_gmt":"2023-09-01T23:41:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=31086"},"modified":"2025-04-16T09:01:42","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T03:31:42","slug":"adopt-a-heritage-2-0-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/adopt-a-heritage-2-0-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It seeks to\u00a0<strong>invite corporate stakeholders to enhance amenities at monuments by utilising their CSR funds.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is a\u00a0<strong>revamped version of the earlier scheme launched in 2017\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>clearly defines\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0<strong>amenities<\/strong> sought for different monuments<strong> as per Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act (AMASR Act) 1958.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Interested stakeholders will be able to adopt<\/strong> a monument or specific\u00a0<strong>amenities through a dedicated web portal at www.indian heritage.gov.in.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The<strong> portal will provide them with comprehensive details\u00a0<\/strong>about the monuments that are available for adoption, including gap analysis, and estimated financial requirements.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>process for selection will be carried out after due diligence and discussions with various stakeholders<\/strong> and assessing the economic and developmental opportunities at each monument.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>selected stakeholders will develop, provide and or maintain amenities in hygiene, accessibility, safety and knowledge categories.\u00a0<\/strong>In doing so, t<strong>hey will get an opportunity to be recognized as a responsible and heritage-friendly entity.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>term of the appointment will be for a period of five years initially, which may be further extended up to five years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Indian Heritage App:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a user-friendly mobile app which will\u00a0<strong>showcase heritage monuments.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>T<\/strong>he app will feature s<strong>tate-wise details of monuments along with photographs,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>list of public amenities available, geo-tagged location\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>feedback\u00a0<\/strong>mechanism for citizens.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>launch will be in a phased manne<\/strong>r, with ticketed monuments launched in Phase I, followed by the remaining monuments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Key Facts about Adopt a Heritage Scheme:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an i<strong>nitiative of the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It was\u00a0<strong>launched in September 2017 on World Tourism Day.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Under it, the government invites entities, including public sector companies, private sector firms, as well as individuals, to develop selected monuments and heritage and tourist sites across India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The project\u00a0<strong>aims to encourage these entities to become \u2018Monument Mitras\u2019 a<\/strong>nd take up the responsibility of developing and upgrading the basic and advanced tourist amenities at these sites.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>corporate sector is expected to use corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for the upkeep of the site.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Monument Mitras, in turn, will get limited visibility on the site premises and on the Incredible India website.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)?<\/h3>\n<p>The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is the premier government organization responsible for the archaeological research, conservation, and preservation of cultural heritage in India.
