The remaining funding comes from the private sector, foundations and innovative financing initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>India joined<\/strong> the Global Fund as a\u00a0<strong>donor in 2006<\/strong> and pledged US$25 million for the Global Fund\u2019s Seventh Replenishment, covering 2023-2025.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Key facts about recent agreement<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It would make it possible to provide the\u00a0<strong>advanced pill known as TLD<\/strong> for under $45 per person per year.<\/li>\n<li>The three-in-one pill bands together the drugs\u00a0<strong>tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, lamivudine and dolutegravir.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The World Health Organization has recommended it as the preferred first-line HIV treatment for adults and adolescents, since it rapidly suppresses the virus that causes AIDS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What is HIV?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is an infection that attacks\u00a0<strong>the body\u2019s immune system.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome<\/strong> (AIDS) is the most advanced stage of the disease.<\/li>\n<li>HIV targets the body\u2019s\u00a0<strong>white blood cells<\/strong>, weakening the immune system.<\/li>\n<li>This makes it easier to get sick with diseases like tuberculosis, infections and some cancers.<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0<strong>spread from<\/strong> the\u00a0<strong>body fluids of an infected person<\/strong>, including blood, breast milk, semen and vaginal fluids.<\/li>\n<li>It can be treated and prevented with antiretroviral therapy (ART).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is\u00a0 Malaria?<\/h3>\n<p>Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease caused by the Plasmodium parasite.
