


{"id":31403,"date":"2025-03-22T05:55:40","date_gmt":"2025-03-22T00:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=31403"},"modified":"2025-04-16T11:41:15","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T06:11:15","slug":"world-happiness-index-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/world-happiness-index-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"World Happiness Index 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>World Happiness Index Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>India ranked 118th in the World Happiness Report 2025 published recently.<\/p>\n<h2>About World Happiness Index<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an annual report published by the <strong>Wellbeing Research Centre<\/strong> at the <strong>University of Oxford in partnership with Gallup<\/strong>, the <strong>United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The rankings are <strong>based on people\u2019s self-assessed life evaluations.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The World Happiness Index 2025ranked countries according to self-assessed life evaluations averaged over 2022-2024 and answers to the Cantril ladder question in the Gallup World Poll.<\/li>\n<li>It asks respondents to think of a ladder with the best possible life for them being a 10 and the worst being a zero.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They are then asked to rate their current lives on that scale.<\/li>\n<li>The study<strong> considers 6 explanatory factors for happiness: social support, GDP per capita, health life expectancy, freedom, generosity, and perception of corruption.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The study also maps whether responses indicated positive or negative emotions about the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Highlights of World Happiness Index 2025<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Finland <\/strong>is ranked as the <strong>happiest country <\/strong>in the world for the eighth consecutive year, and other <strong>Nordic countries \u2013 Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden<\/strong>, continued to r<strong>emain in the top four, in that order.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <strong>United Kingdom<\/strong> is in the<strong> 23rd <\/strong>position, the <strong>US is 24th, a<\/strong>nd <strong>China <\/strong>stands at the <strong>68th <\/strong>position in the <strong>list of 147 countrie<\/strong>s this year.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>While Western countries dominated the top 20, especially European nations, Costa Rica and Mexico entered the top 10 for the first time, ranking at 6th and 10th respectively.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Afghanistan <\/strong>is again ranked as the <strong>unhappiest country <\/strong>in the world; this year 147th against last year&#8217;s 143rd rank (last).<\/li>\n<li>The State of Palestine is ranked 108th (103 in 2024), while Ukraine is at 111 rank (105 in 2024).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>India ranked 118 <\/strong>out of 147 countries.<\/li>\n<li>Among India&#8217;s neighbouring countries, <strong>Sri Lanka w<\/strong>as ranked at <strong>133<\/strong>, <strong>Bangladesh <\/strong>at <strong>134,Pakistan at 109<\/strong>, Nepal at 92, and China at 68.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>World Happiness Index FAQs<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Q1<\/strong>.
