{"id":31459,"date":"2026-03-19T13:47:27","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T08:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=31459"},"modified":"2026-03-20T17:26:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T11:56:40","slug":"ios-sagar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ios-sagar\/","title":{"rendered":"IOS SAGAR"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>IOS SAGAR Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the second edition of Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR commenced.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About IOS SAGAR<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) Sagar is a <\/span><b>maritime security cooperation initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Southwest <\/span><b>Indian Ocean Region (IOR).<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>second edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR initiative.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed as a <\/span><b>unique operational engagement programme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that enables naval personnel from Friendly <\/span><b>Foreign Countries to train and sail<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> together onboard an Indian Naval Ship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Participating members:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This Edition includes participation from <\/span><b>16 nations of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(IONS) of the Indian Ocean Region(IOR).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative reflects the Government of India\u2019s vision of <\/span><b>Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and framework of <\/span><b>MAHASAGAR \u2013 Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security Across the Regions.<\/b><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Activities<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It involves <\/span><b>professional training interactions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at Indian Naval training establishments in Kochi.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This phase will be followed by deployment onboard an Indian Naval Ship, where international participants will sail together with Indian Navy personnel and take part in operational activities at sea.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2241628&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IOS SAGAR is a maritime security cooperation initiative in the Southwest Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
