About 99% of the fluoride in the body is in the hard tissues.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Sources of Fluoride<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It accounts for about <\/span><b>0.3 g\/kg of the Earth\u2019s crust<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and exists in the form of fluorides in a number of minerals, of which <\/span><b>fluorspar, cryolite and fluorapatite are the most common.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a mineral naturally present in <\/span><b>many foods<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and available as a dietary supplement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Soil, water, plants, and foods contain <\/span><b>trace amounts of fluoride.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Uses:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is used in aluminium production and as a <\/span><b>flux in the steel and glass fibre industries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
