


{"id":31782,"date":"2025-04-06T01:08:49","date_gmt":"2025-04-05T19:38:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=31782"},"modified":"2025-04-16T14:45:31","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T09:15:31","slug":"technology-and-innovation-report-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/technology-and-innovation-report-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology and Innovation Report 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Technology and Innovation Report Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>India has been ranked 10th in the world with significant private investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 2023, according to the 2025 Technology and Innovation Report.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>About Technology and Innovation Report<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was released by the <strong>UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It seeks to <strong>address issues in science, technology and innovation <\/strong>that are topical and important for developing countries in a comprehensive way with an emphasis on <strong>policy-relevant analysis and conclusions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <strong>2025 edition <\/strong>of the report, <strong>entitled: Inclusive artificial intelligence for development,<\/strong> aims to guide policymakers through the complex\u00a0<strong> Artificial Intelligence <\/strong>(AI) landscape and support them in designing science, technology and innovation policies that foster inclusive and equitable technological progress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Highlights of the Technology and Innovation Report<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It shows that <strong>just 100 companies<\/strong>, <strong>mostly in the United States and China<\/strong>, are <strong>behind 40 percent of the world\u2019s private investment in research and development,<\/strong> highlighting a sharp concentration of power.<\/li>\n<li>At the same time, 118 countries \u2013 mostly from the <strong>Global South <\/strong>\u2013 are <strong>missing from global AI governance discussions <\/strong>altogether.<\/li>\n<li>The report estimates that up to <strong>40 percent of global jobs could be affected by AI.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>To avoid being left behind, developing countries need to strengthen what UNCTAD calls the \u201cthree key leverage points\u201d: infrastructure, data and skills.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>India and China <\/strong>are the <strong>only developing countries<\/strong> in the world with<strong> significant private investments in <\/strong>AI in 2023.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>US leads<\/strong> the world in terms of <strong>private investment in AI<\/strong>, at 67 billion US dollars in 2023, or 70 percent of global AI private investment. <strong>China <\/strong>was in <strong>second position<\/strong>, with 7.8 billion US dollars, and I<strong>ndia in tenth position<\/strong>, with 1.4 billion dollars.<\/li>\n<li><strong>India ranked 36th<\/strong> in 2024 out of 170 nations on the <strong>Readiness for Frontier Technologies Index,<\/strong> improving its position from 48th in 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Technology and Innovation Report FAQs<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Q1<\/strong>.
