{"id":31859,"date":"2026-03-31T13:39:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-31T08:09:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=31859"},"modified":"2026-03-31T13:59:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T08:29:58","slug":"electronics-component-manufacturing-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/electronics-component-manufacturing-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the government approved the 29 applications under the fourth tranche of the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the first<\/span><b> dedicated <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pli\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>production-linked incentive <\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>(PLI) scheme<\/strong> to promote the manufacturing of select passive electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, speakers, microphones, special ceramics, relays, switches, and connectors.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To develop a <\/span><b>robust component manufacturing ecosystem<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by attracting investments (global \/ domestic) across the value chain by integrating its domestic electronic industry with the Global Value Chains (GVCs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme will offer <\/span><b>three incentive structures<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turnover-linked incentive (based on revenue)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Capex-linked incentive (for investments in plants &amp; machinery)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hybrid incentive model (a combination of both)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Incentives for incremental investments and turnover range from 1\u201310% depending on the year and the component.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employment generation will be a mandatory requirement for all applicants, including both component manufacturers and capital equipment producers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Tenure:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This scheme has a tenure of six years, with a one-year gestation period.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme focuses particularly on <\/span><b>passive electronic components<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
