{"id":32120,"date":"2025-04-16T12:38:20","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T07:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=32120"},"modified":"2025-05-27T17:45:15","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T12:15:15","slug":"creutzfeldt-jakob-disease-cjd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/creutzfeldt-jakob-disease-cjd\/","title":{"rendered":"Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>Two people are believed to have died from a rare and incurable brain disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) within just a few months of each other in the United States.<\/p>\n<h2>About Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>rare brain disorder <\/strong>that <strong>leads to dementia.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It <strong>belongs to<\/strong> a group of human and animal diseases known as <strong>prion disorders,<\/strong> also known as <strong>transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs). .<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Symptoms <\/strong>of CJD can be <strong>similar to <\/strong>those of <strong>Alzheimer&#8217;s<\/strong> disease.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>But CJD<\/strong> usually <strong>gets worse much faster and leads to death.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>All types of CJD are serious but are very rare.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A<strong>bout 1 to 2 cases <\/strong>of CJD are diagnosed <strong>per million people<\/strong> around the world <strong>each year.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The disease<strong> most often affects older adults.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Cause<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>CJD and other prion diseases are caused by <strong>abnormal forms of proteins called prions.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Healthy and harmless prion proteins are found throughout the body but mostly in the nervous system.
