{"id":32392,"date":"2025-04-17T11:22:23","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T05:52:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=32392"},"modified":"2025-05-28T11:42:15","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T06:12:15","slug":"exercise-dustlik-vi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/exercise-dustlik-vi\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise DUSTLIK-VI"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Exercise DUSTLIK-VI Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>Recently, the 6th edition of the India-Uzbekistan Joint Military Exercise DUSTLIK-VI officially commenced at the Foreign Training Node, Aundh (Pune).<\/p>\n<h2>About Exercise DUSTLIK-VI<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Exercise DUSTLIK<\/strong> is an <strong>annual bilateral military exercise<\/strong> conducted <strong>alternatively in India and Uzbekistan<\/strong>, with the <strong>previous edition (DUSTLIK-V)<\/strong> held in <strong>Termez District, Uzbekistan, <\/strong>in April 2024.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>first edition<\/strong> was held in <strong>November 2019 in Uzbekistan<\/strong>, marking the <strong>beginning of a structured defence partnership<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Participants and Representation<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Indian contingent<\/strong> consists of <strong>60 personnel<\/strong>, including troops from a <strong>battalion of the JAT Regiment<\/strong> and the <strong>Indian Air Force (IAF)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Uzbekistan contingent<\/strong> is represented by <strong>troops from the Uzbekistan Army<\/strong>, reflecting their <strong>ongoing military cooperation with India<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Theme and Focus of DUSTLIK-VI<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>central theme<\/strong> of DUSTLIK-VI is <strong>\u201cJoint Multi-Domain Sub-Conventional Operations in a Semi-Urban Scenario\u201d<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The exercise simulates <strong>response mechanisms to terrorist activities<\/strong>, specifically <strong>territorial capture by hostile forces<\/strong>, with coordinated <strong>joint battalion-level operations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Activities will include:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Establishment of a Joint Operations Centre<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Counterterrorism operations<\/strong>, such as <strong>population control<\/strong>, <strong>raids<\/strong>, and <strong>search-and-destroy missions<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Employment of firepower<\/strong>, including <strong>air assets<\/strong>, to <strong>neutralise terrorist threats<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Special Forces<\/strong> from both the <strong>Army and Air Force<\/strong> will conduct missions such as:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Securing a helipad<\/strong> for further operations<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reconnaissance<\/strong>, <strong>observation<\/strong>, and <strong>Special Heliborne Operations (SHBO)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Small Team Insertion and Extraction (STIE)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Use of <strong>helicopters<\/strong>, <strong>drones<\/strong>, and <strong>counter-Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) measures<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Indian Air Force<\/strong> will also provide <strong>logistical support<\/strong> to sustain operations in <strong>hostile environments<\/strong>, underlining the <strong>air-land integration capabilities<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2122061\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Exercise DUSTLIK is a yearly India-Uzbekistan military drill, held alternately in both countries.
