{"id":3398,"date":"2023-02-14T06:27:20","date_gmt":"2023-02-14T00:57:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=3398"},"modified":"2025-03-26T12:11:35","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T06:41:35","slug":"budget-2023-initiatives-under-last-mile-delivery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/budget-2023-initiatives-under-last-mile-delivery\/","title":{"rendered":"Budget 2023: Initiatives under Last Mile Delivery"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Key Initiatives under Last mile delivery:<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Tribal Welfare:<\/h3>\n<h3>Aspirational Blocks Programme:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It <strong>aims to improve the performance of blocks<\/strong> lagging on various development parameters.<\/li>\n<li>This will enable <strong>holistic development<\/strong> in those areas that require added assistance.<\/li>\n<li>The programme will <strong>cover 500 districts across 31 states and Union Territories initially<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Over half of these blocks are in 6 states<\/strong>\u2014Uttar Pradesh (68 blocks), Bihar (61), Madhya Pradesh (42), Jharkhand (34), Odisha (29), and West Bengal (29).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>on the lines of the Aspirational District Programme<\/strong> that was launched in 2018 and covers 112 districts across the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Pradhan Mantri PVTG Development Mission:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The mission will <strong>saturate the particularly vulnerable tribal groups with safe housing, clean drinking water, education, nutrition, road, and telecom connection, and livelihood.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A <strong>budget of Rs 15,000 crore <\/strong>will be dedicated to this mission <strong>in the next three years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The scheme will <strong>benefit 3.5 lakh tribals.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Eklavya Model Residential Schools:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>EMRS <strong>started in the year 1997-98 to impart quality education to ST children in remote areas.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Implementing ministry: <strong>Ministry of Tribal Affairs.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>EMRSs <strong>will be set up in every block with more than 50% ST population<\/strong> and <strong>at least 20,000 tribal persons.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Budget 2023:<\/strong> In the next three years, the <strong>center will recruit 38,800 teachers and support staff<\/strong> for the 740 Eklavya Model Residential Schools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Water for Drought Prone Region:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Central assistance of <strong>5,300 crores will be given to Upper Bhadra Project.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Upper Bhadra Project:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a major <strong>lift irrigation Scheme under implementation in the central region of Karnataka State.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>planned to irrigate 2,25,515 hectares by micro irrigation<\/strong> in drought-prone districts of Chikkamagalur, Chitradurga, Tumkur and Davangere.<\/li>\n<li>It also proposes to <strong>recharge groundwater tables<\/strong> and provide drinking water by filling 367 tanks with six tmcft water in drought-prone taluks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n<h3>Bharat Shared Repository of Inscriptions (Bharat SHRI):<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It <strong>will be set up in a digital epigraphy museum<\/strong>, with the <strong>digitization of one lakh ancient inscriptions in the first stage.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1)\u00a0Who are PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups)?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>PVTGs are more vulnerable among the tribal groups who are in need of greater support and development.
