the well proven and reliable heavy lift launcher of ISRO, is identified as the launch vehicle for Gaganyaan mission.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>India\u2019s heaviest rocket <\/strong>consists of solid stage, liquid stage and cryogenic stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>All systems in the LVM3 launch vehicle are re-configured to meet human rating requirements and christened <strong>Human Rated LVM3\/HLVM3<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/Di8aAaTrsCJr3asM0ggyhQSA0OJvTdC3B20BO3gw4646ccwKbAloYWMea9EQpQpe7iJjda1CxVk12kYFrLA9AIKdvyDAbd4tGLeo9O7XPzcTHlOdTouYUavRLaymeZjVxqbubVBF2IEy\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Image Caption: Gaganyaan Mission \u2013 Major Milestones Planned<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media\">\n<div data-oembed-url=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xif7TpQc3OA\">\n<div><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xif7TpQc3OA\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How is ISRO getting ready for the Gaganyaan Launch?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Some of the recent efforts &#8211;\n<ul>\n<li>HLVM3 launch vehicle,<\/li>\n<li>Upgrading the mission control complex,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Building an \u2018umbilical tower\u2019<\/strong> on the second launch pad (Sriharikota) for maintenance of the rocket while on the launch platform,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Agreement with Australia<\/strong> for setting up a mobile unit for direct-to-ground communication at Cocos Island.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The selected astronauts<\/strong> have completed the first semester of the mission-specific training in India, after completing a generic training for spacefaring in Russia.<\/li>\n<li>The space agency<strong> will undertake two test vehicle missions <\/strong>to demonstrate crew escape systems mid-flight and the retrieval of the crew module once it splashed down in the ocean.<\/li>\n<li>This will be <strong>followed by the first unmanned Gaganyaan mission<\/strong> that will carry an unpressurised crew module.<\/li>\n<li>Subsequently, there will be two more test vehicle missions to check all systems before the <strong>second unmanned flight.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Other ISRO\u2019s Missions to be Launched this Year:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The space agency has planned 15 satellite and launch vehicle missions this year, including the launch of the recently operationalised <strong>small satellite launch vehicle and three space science missions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>There will be one mission of the heavy rocket LVM3, which is likely to carry on-board <strong>Chandrayaan-3<\/strong> likely by mid-2023.\n<ul>\n<li>The mission will <strong>complete the objectives of Chandrayaan-2<\/strong>, attempting a soft landing and then roving on the lunar surface close to the south pole of the celestial body.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Aditya L1 mission<\/strong> is likely to take place in June or July in 2023 on board the workhorse PSLV.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1) What is the Launch Vehicle Mark-3?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Previously referred to as the GSLV Mk III, it is a three-stage medium-lift launch vehicle developed by the ISRO.
