Ukraine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>G20 Bali Declaration: Key Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>On the Russia-Ukraine<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The declaration acknowledged differences among members on the Russia-Ukraine war but stressed that it was essential to adhere to international law, including protection of civilians caught in conflicts.\n<ul>\n<li>Most members strongly condemned the war in Ukraine, but the declaration noted that there were other views and assessments of the situation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It also said that the threat of use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Welcomed the Turkey and UN-brokered Black Sea Grain Initiative<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>that secured a Russia Guarantee to allow the export of Ukrainian grain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other issues covered<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The declaration covered a range of issues, from climate change to corruption, and from Covid vaccination to imparting computer skills to women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The declaration recognised that G20 is not the forum to resolve security issues<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>However, it agreed that security issues can have significant consequences for the global economy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>India emerged as leader, consensus builder<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Declaration Strengthened India\u2019s position\u00a0<\/strong>on the following<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>since the beginning of the war\n<ul>\n<li>respect for UN charter,<\/li>\n<li>advocating diplomacy and dialogue,<\/li>\n<li>need for peace and stability,<\/li>\n<li>against the use and threat of use of nuclear weapons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Declaration echoed PM Modi\u2019s remark<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The declaration proclaimed \u201ctoday\u2019s era must not be of war\u201d, echoing PM Modi\u2019s remarks before President Putin on the sidelines of the SCO summit in September.<\/li>\n<li>It strongly endorsed PM Modi\u2019s emphasis on three key points:\u00a0<u>threat of use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible, diplomacy and dialogue and today\u2019s era must not be of war<\/u>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>India acted as consensus builder<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>India has emerged as a leader, solution provider and consensus builder through its positive and constructive approach in framing the G20 communique.\n<ul>\n<li>India played a key and critical role in bringing consensus amongst countries after all meetings round the year failed and there was total deadlock.<\/li>\n<li>India worked in partnership with all developing countries and emerging markets to draft the final statement and the preamble to the statement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>India made sure that the country\u2019s viewpoints are prominently reflected in the statement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>India also managed to get important references in the communique on:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>sustainable development and lifestyles,<\/li>\n<li>new quantified goals for climate finance post 2025,<\/li>\n<li>additional finance by multilateral development banks for sustainable development goals (SDGs),<\/li>\n<li>multilateral reforms aimed at implementing the 2030 agenda,<\/li>\n<li>seamless and interoperable international travel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Modi\u2019s address at the G-20 Summit in Bali, Session III: Digital Transformation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Addressing a G20 meeting on digital transformation, PM Modi called for digital access that is truly inclusive.<\/li>\n<li>He said that it is the responsibility of G20 leaders to ensure that the benefits of digital transformation are not confined to a small part of the human race.<\/li>\n<li>He also sought a pledge by G20 leaders to work for\u00a0<u>bringing digital transformation into the life of every human being in the next 10 years<\/u>.<\/li>\n<li>He said that the principle of \u201cdata for development\u201d will be an integral part of overall theme of India\u2019s upcoming G20 presidency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Highlighted India\u2019s own digital transformation<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>India has developed digital public goods whose basic architecture has in-built democratic principles.<\/li>\n<li>Over 40% of the world\u2019s real-time payment transactions took place through UPI last year.<\/li>\n<li>India opened 460
