{"id":3606,"date":"2023-01-30T08:57:04","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T03:27:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=3606"},"modified":"2025-03-26T16:43:14","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T11:13:14","slug":"all-india-survey-on-higher-education-aishe-2020-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/all-india-survey-on-higher-education-aishe-2020-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) 2020-2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is <strong>conducted by the Ministry of Education since 2011.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Coverage<\/strong>: It covers <strong>all higher educational institutions located in Indian Territory<\/strong> and imparting higher education in the country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>To <strong>identify<\/strong> and capture <strong>all the institutions of higher learning<\/strong> in the country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collect the data<\/strong> from all the higher education institutions <strong>on various aspects of higher education.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The survey <strong>collects detailed information on different parameters<\/strong> such as student enrollment, teacher\u2019s data, infrastructural information, financial information etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Highlights of AISHE 2020-2021:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For the first time<\/strong>, in AISHE 2020-21, <strong>higher educational institutions have filled data<\/strong> <strong>using entirely online<\/strong> data collection platform through the <strong>Web Data Capture Format (DCF) developed by Department of Higher Education<\/strong> through the National Informatics Centre (NIC).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Findings:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>total number of Universities<\/strong> \/ University like institutions registered <strong>is 1,113<\/strong>, Colleges 43,796 and Standalone Institutions 11,296.<\/li>\n<li>Number of Universities <strong>has increased by 70<\/strong>, number of Colleges has increased by 1,453, in 2020-21 over 2019-20.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enrollment in higher education increases to 4.14 crore<\/strong>, crossing the 4 crore mark for first time;
