concept of <strong>a virtual shared space<\/strong> where users can interact with each other and digital objects in a seemingly real way.<\/li>\n<li><strong>NFTs are digital assets<\/strong> that can be used to represent unique items, such as virtual real estate, in-game items and collectibles, on a blockchain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Need for the Conference on Crime and Security:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>In the wake of the digital age<\/strong>, cyber security has become an essential aspect of global security that requires adequate attention to its <strong>economic and geopolitical implications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The transformation of security challenges<\/strong> from \u2018dynamite to metaverse\u2019 and from \u2018conversion of hawala to cryptocurrency\u2019 led to the need to devise a common strategy against it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Terrorists are finding new ways<\/strong> (darknet, metaverse, cryptocurrency) to perpetrate violence, radicalise youth and raise financial resources and new methods in virtual assets are being used by terrorists for financial transactions.<\/li>\n<li>This will make it easier for terrorist organisations to select and target <strong>vulnerable people and prepare material <\/strong>according to their vulnerabilities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The metaverse<\/strong> also creates opportunities for true imitation of a user\u2019s identity, known as <strong>deep-fakes. <\/strong>These can be used to impersonate users and steal their identities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How Vulnerable India and Other Countries are?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Many countries<\/strong> have become victims of cyber-attacks and this threat is hovering over all major economies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The World Bank estimates <\/strong>that cyber-attacks could have caused losses of around $5.2 trillion to the world during 2019-2023.<\/li>\n<li><strong>According to the Global Trend Summary Report 2022<\/strong>, some of the cybercrime trends, such as ransomware, phishing, online scams, online child sexual abuse and hacking, will increase manifold in the future.<\/li>\n<li><strong>840 million Indians<\/strong> have an online presence, and by 2025 another 400 million Indians will enter the digital world. <strong>The possibilities of cyber threats have also increased.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"media\">\n<div financing,<\/li>\n<li>Radicalisation,<\/li>\n<li>Narco, narco-terror links, and<\/li>\n<li>Misinformation in a better way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In order to create a<strong> robust and efficient operational system<\/strong>, there is the<strong> need to think in a timely manner using a coordinated and cooperative approach<\/strong> on using various virtual
