Lal.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Features:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It was <strong>designed and constructed in a complete square shape<\/strong> that was <strong>surrounded by defensive walls<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Each side spreads for over half a mile<\/strong>, and the interior is full of stone ruins and sculptures.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>walls of the fortification<\/strong> are a little over <strong>nine meters (30 feet) tall.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>There were <strong>eight gateways into the city<\/strong>, <strong>two in each of the four sides<\/strong> of the wall.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>gateways were connected by streets<\/strong> in a <strong>grid-like arrangement<\/strong> with the palace in the center.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>gates were elaborate structures made of brick and stone.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>There is evidence of <strong>stone-lined reservoirs<\/strong> that were likely used for harvesting rainwater.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Intelligent traffic management, pedestrian-friendly pathways<\/strong>, grand gateways with <strong>guard houses<\/strong>, wide roads, and a vast open space were some of the key features of this ancient city.<\/li>\n<li>The city is believed to have a <strong>population of around 20,000 to 25,000.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)\u00a0Which region was known as Kalinga during ancient times?<\/h3>\n<p>Kalinga, ancient territorial subdivision of east-central India.
