All payloads are performing normally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modules<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The propulsion module is the one that will take the lander and the rover to the moon.<\/li>\n<li>The lander module contains the rover. After the touchdown, the lander will remain stationary at the landing site, while the rover will explore the moon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Payloads<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The Chandrayaan-3 carries six payloads that would help ISRO understand the lunar soil and also get the blue planet\u2019s photographs from the lunar orbit.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Radio Anatomy of Moon Bound Hypersensitive ionosphere and Atmosphere (RAMBHA)\u00a0<\/strong>will measure the near-surface plasma density and its changes with time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA)<\/strong>\u00a0will measure seismicity around the landing site and delineate the structure of the lunar crust and mantle.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS)<\/strong>\u00a0will determine the elemental composition of lunar soil and rocks around the landing site.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alpha Particle X-Ray Spectrometer (APXS)<\/strong>\u00a0will derive the chemical composition and infer the mineralogical composition of the moon\u2019s surface.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spectro-polarimetry of HAbitable Planet Earth (SHAPE)<\/strong>\u00a0will study the spectro-polarimetric signatures of the earth in the near-infrared wavelength range.\n<ul>\n<li>This could be used in the search for life on exo-planets beyond the solar system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lunar lander Vikram<\/strong>\u00a0will click photos of the\u00a0<strong>rover Pragyaan<\/strong>\u00a0as it studies the seismic activity on the moon.\n<ul>\n<li>Using laser beams, it would try to melt a piece of the lunar surface &#8212; the regolith &#8212; to study the gases emitted during the process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>ISRO\u2019s previous moon missions<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Chandrayaan-3 is largely a replica of its predecessor, Chandrayaan-2, that was launched in July 2019 in the form of an orbiter and a lander (\u2018Vikram\u2019) bearing a rover (\u2018Pragyan\u2019).<\/li>\n<li>Chandrayaan-1 was launched by ISRO in October, 2008.\n<ul>\n<li>The ISRO lost communication with Chandrayaan-1 on August 29, 2009, almost a year after it was launched.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>ISTRAC is located in Bengaluru.<\/li>\n<li>It is entrusted with the major responsibility to\u00a0<u>provide tracking support for all the satellite and launch vehicle missions of ISRO<\/u>.<\/li>\n<li>The major objectives of the centre are:\n<ul>\n<li>carrying out mission operations of all operational remote sensing and scientific satellites;<\/li>\n<li>providing Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TTC) services from launch vehicle lift-off till injection of satellite into orbit;<\/li>\n<li>to estimate its preliminary orbit in space;
